Gallery-Close is Scotland's only privately managed photography gallery. It is proud to represent a growing number of elite photographers.
The gallery is situated in the heart of the historic Georgian New Town midway between Princes Street and Stockbridge in Scotland's capital, it exhibits a variety of photographic work and individually themed exhibitions throughout the year.
We also offer a private bespoke service to cater for clients who are looking for specific imagery. We can source work and offer advice on style, collectability etc.
Owner, director Chris Close (BSc, MSc) is a professional photographer. He qualified with a degree in Photographic Sciences then Marketing from Strathclyde university. A former chair of AOP (Scotland) he also sat on a cross political steering group which aimed to establish the first major photographic centre in Scotland. sadly this has never come to fruition. He has put his name to several photographic projects including the annual 'Between The Lines - Portraits of Authors' exhibition that he has undertaken annually at the Edinburgh International Book Festival since 2009. He has amassed over 1000 unique and distinctive portraits of writers in an equally unique concept; photographing on site then adding prints to an ever expanding exhibition on a daily basis.
Should you have any questions please do get in touch or feel free to pop in or call to arrange a viewing. The kettle is always on and we shall be delighted to discuss the work with you.
