Animal Kingdom - by Nadia Attura

from £290.00

One of the first artists spotted by Gallery-Close Nadia has been featured in VOGUE, The New York Times, THE TIMES, The Guardian, ENKI, World of Interiors and Ideal Home.

Nadia creates photographed details made on location which are then layered to form a tableaux of collected scenes within a scene, together they convey a sense of place and time. Often the original photograph disappears from documentary single imagery toward a more painterly poetic interpreted view of the world. Applying washes, paints, chalk to the constructed images. Aesthetica Magazine writes 'Nadia Attura works with layering techniques to create complex compositions. Often grappling with ideas of idealism and paradise, the bright images are multifaceted tableaux, combining unexpected objects, settings and colours to construct uncanny depictions of desirable destinations." Nadia's artwork has been selected and exhibited at The Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition 2019 and 2016. She was one of the five finalists of the VAO. In 2018 her work was shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
